Car Park Line Marking & Surface Repairs – Runnymede Borough Council, Surrey
Archway Highway Services recently completed a programme of car park maintenance and line marking works for Runnymede Borough Council in Surrey, helping to restore several public car parks to a safe and clearly organised condition for motorists and pedestrians.
The project involved a combination of thermoplastic line marking, localised surface repairs, and vegetation clearance to ensure the parking areas were fully functional and compliant with current highway standards.
One of the key elements of the work was refreshing worn and faded parking bay markings. Over time, heavy vehicle traffic and weather conditions can cause traditional markings to deteriorate, making bays difficult to see and potentially leading to inefficient use of parking spaces. Our team installed new high-durability thermoplastic line markings, a long-lasting material widely used across the UK for its visibility, skid resistance, and durability.
In addition to the line marking works, several sections of the car park surfaces required structural repair. These areas were reinstated using 10mm Stone Mastic Asphalt (SMA), a robust surfacing material designed to provide excellent durability and resistance to heavy traffic loads. Carrying out these repairs ensured the surfaces were smooth, safe, and suitable for long-term use.
As part of the wider maintenance programme, we also undertook vegetation management around the perimeter of the car parks, cutting back overgrown areas that were encroaching on parking bays and access routes. This improved both visibility and accessibility for users of the car parks.
